CPF Member in The Globe and Mail

In January 2013, the CPF-Manitoba office received a phone call from a reporter with The Globe and Mail looking to speak with a parent who was an Immersion grad and who had put their children in Immersion. The article is in response to the growing rate of enrolment in the French Immersion program. To read the article in its entirety and read Andrea's story, please visit http://goo.gl/mHSf6M.

Allons en France 2013

Canadian Parents for French and the Embassy of France are once again offering the Allons en France contest! The grand prize: An all-expenses-paid trip to Nice, France for one high school student in Canada.

This year, students in grades 11 ...and 12 who are studying French as a second language (FSL) are asked to submit their entries through Twitter! Contestants in Allons en France 2013 are invited to meet the challenge: Use eight of the 10 given words in four tweets (two per tweet) and include the hashtag #AEF2013. While there is no theme regarding what is tweeted, extra consideration will be given to tweets which are linked to one another.

For more information, including complete rules and instructions and the mandatory contest registration form, please download the documents that are posted at http://cpf.ca/en/actvities/youth-activities/allons-en-france/. The contest will close on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

The Allons en France competition is being held as part of the French government’s “Dis-moi dix mots” project central to the Semaine de la langue française et de la francophonie (March 16-24, 2013). For more information on the project, please visit www.dismoidixmots.culture.fr.

Thank you for your interest in the competition, and please pass this message on to your children and students. Allons en France 2013: it's time to get tweeting!
