FIVE Things to Prep Your Children for Summer Break

Five Things to Prep Your Children for Summer Break

As the days get warmer and longuer, the task of keeping children focus on school and other daily routines becomes every parent's challenge. Here is a list of things to help you get throught the end of the school year and ease the transition to the next:

Stick to a routine, they help kids cope with the excitement and craziness when traveling, or even during school treats and end-of-the-year activities.

Spend more time outdoors to relax and unwind. This also improves your child's concentration in school.

Plan ahead for activities. You can get ideas from the library or the internet on enriching activities. This will help prepare your child for the transition to the next grade.

Find support. Friends, family and the school staff can provide good company and support. It’s always nice to have an extra adult or even an older child around to help keep an eye on yours while you take a break.

Encourage children to reflect back on the school year and think about what they have learned, what was challenging, how they dealt with it.
