LIFE (Linking Immigrants to French and English) in Manitoba provides information regarding Canada’s Official Languages. Primarily, it assists immigrants and newcomers to Manitoba, to make fully informed decisions when they choose language-based educational programs for their children.
Additionally, it serves to enhance understanding and appreciation of:
- the history and relevance of Canada’s Official Languages;
- French and English as modern day languages that have endured the passage of time throughout Canada’s history;
- the social, cultural, educational and career benefits and advantages that bilingual Canadians have;
- the rights of Canadians with regards to requesting the use of both French and English in community and business.
