Open Positions on the Board of Directors of Canadian Parents for French

CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH – MANITOBA
(CPF-MB)

Wishes to fill 2 vacancies on its
VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Position 1. An individual with a legal or financial background
Position 2. A student studying law or finance/business

  • Canadian Parents for French furthers bilingualism by promoting and creating opportunities for youth to learn and use French
  • Our Vision – A Canada where French and English are an integral part of daily life.

Requirements of Board Membership:

  • Membership in CPF/willing to become a CPF member
  • Commitment to the goals of the organization
  • Knowledge and skills relevant to the work of the Board
  • Director terms are for 2 years

Duties:

  • 5 meetings a year – face to face or teleconferences
  • Committee work (Directors usually serve on one committee and if the need arises there may be committee meetings between Board meetings). Committees include:
    • Nominations
    • Executive/Management
    • Regulations/Bylaws/Policies
  • Public Relations – visits to schools, Parent Advisory Groups and Chapters, meetings with government officials
  • Support at events, such as Concours d’art oratoire
